The Coffee Culprit

Everyone love to bitch and moan about something.  Why not make it coffee?  I will be strolling into the gym sipping on my soy latte and some idiot will point at my lovely latte and say "that stuff will kill you."  At that point I want to say, don't look in the mirror buddy because your reflection will kill you.  Ahhh, I digress.  Well back to my point.  Coffee will not kill you, in fact coffee has many health benefiting properties such as helping to increase insulin sensitivity thereby lowering the risk of diabetes. The antibacterial and antiadhesive property of trigonelline present in coffee can prevent cavities.  Furthermore, coffee is not bad for our stomach as it lowers the percentage of developing liver cirrhosis by 80%.  Now for all the haters out there, I will give you a little info.  You should stick to only having 2 cups of coffee as day as you can run the risk of imploding!  ahahah. JUST KIDDING.  Excess caffeine can cause anxiety, insomnia, headaches, and restlessness.  Just drink in moderation, yea everyone's favorite word - yuck - moderation.  Till next time xoxo So Fit, So Fab!

CARBS CARBS CARBS

Those words make me cringe.  It reminds me when I used to watch the Brady Bunch and the jealous sister Jan would always say "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha".  I just wanted her to shut up.  The same goes for when people love to tell me how they have dropped all their carb consumption in order to loose weight.  Hey people guess what, YOUR BODY NEEDS CARBOHYDRATES!!!  Carbs contain glucose.  Glucose is the fuel and the ONLY fuel that your brain lives on!  So if you find yourself feeling somewhat lightheaded, moody, bitchy and stupid - eat some carbs.  I promise that you won't gain weight if you are eating the smart carbs - brown rice, millet, whole grains, yams, etc..  Till next time XO
